Jesus took His leading disciples with Him to a high mountain to pray, where He “was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light” (Matthew 17:2). A bright cloud overshadowed the mountain, and Moses and Elijah bestowed the keys of the priesthood on Peter, James, and John.
