    1837:9 Mar. 14, 1837Received the prayers of Presidents Joseph Smith Jun and Sidney Rigdon, with the laying on of hands for the recovery of my health, and was set apart to accompany Elder Brigham Young on a special business mission to the East1837:29 June 13, 1837Brother Willard arrived a day or two before the mission (to England) started and was appointed to accompany them.1841:48 Aug. 31-Voted that Elder Willard Richards be requested to locate himself for a season at Warsaw, or vicinity, for the purpose of selling lots on the town plat of Warren, counseling the brethren, and attending to such other business as may be necessary relating to the Church. Sept. 7-Elder Willard Richards went to Warsaw, and located himself, for the purpose of counseling the Saints, and settling the town of Warren, and the day following made sale of three city lots.Oct. 14- Thursday, October 14, Elder Willard Richards arrived in Warsaw, Hancock county, Ill., from Nauvoo. Account given1842:10 July 1, 1842Elder Willard Richards left Nauvoo for New England1848:15 May 31, 1848The president also signed a letter of recommendation in behalf of brother Willard Richards, authorizing him to travel and preach in the United States and Europe, and gather the means to fit him out for his journey to the mountains.
