With reference to the woman brought to be stoned for her mistakes under the law of Moses, a tufted rug rises, a gradient of earth brown to deep red. The stones fall on the ground referencing the dropped stones of the accusers who now judge themselves. But the woman stands forgiven by the grace of He that is without sin (John 8:1–11). Five wounds pierce the rug, referencing the Crucifixion, and the blood that was spilled on behalf of the woman and all mankind.
"We are all fallen, yet loved and buoyed up— called to put down our offences toward one another, our accusations, our judgments, and to come unto Him."
