Similar to other depictions of the Book of Mormon prophet Lehi’s vision, McLeish portrays a tree, a rod, a river, and a building. However, in McLeish’s work, scores of figures strain to leave the spacious building and the filthy river and move toward the life-giving tree. Christ’s message is to those who need to be rescued and redeemed.
"As we, His children here on earth, learn of Christ, follow Him, and partake of His love, we yearn to help and rescue others."
