At the center of this work, Erekson has placed a sunflower, representing Jesus Christ. The safety pins that radiate around the center—some placed perfectly, and some leaning on others—represent all of God’s children as they orient themselves toward the Savior. The image formed resembles tree rings that grow through experience, spreading from a common center.
