The artist, a mixed-race Latter-day Saint, notes that her title for this piece explores how the priesthood restriction of the mid-19th century until 1978 has personally affected her on an introspective level. While moving among peers who haven’t had to face the history of that restriction in such a personal manner, the journey can at times feel isolating, making Lehmann feel "both visible and invisible." It is important to understand the struggle of some individual Latter-day Saints as we all seek to find comfort in modern revelation, which reemphasizes that all are invited to come unto Christ.
"This piece seeks to capture the experience of Church members of African descent who are forced to stop mid-stride in the bustle of earthly life and look head-on at Church history and modern revelation."
