Hale, a member of the Santa Clara Pueblo tribe, was inspired by the Book of Mormon king Lamoni’s desire to know "the Great Spirit." She draws upon her traditional art styles and symbols, including this representation of the Pueblo sun god, to represent God and His creations. In addition to the heavens and the earth, God created us, His children, whom He loves and embraces.
