With hands that love, a woman reaches down to a young child who reaches and is welcomed. Boardman illustrates a scene he witnessed in person; moved by stories of refugees from the Russo-Ukrainian war, Boardman went to the borders of Ukraine to assist. Boardman feels a kinship with the refugees: “We all have moments, or lifetimes, of needing refuge from one storm or another.”
“I believe we receive an added measure of assistance from the other side of the veil as we assist and love those on this side of the veil.”
