The Daybreak Moment

The artist is a photographer for Daybreak Vision Project, a nonprofit organization that performs cataract surgery for the visually impaired. The woman in this work has received surgery and rested overnight with a patch on her eye. In the photograph above, her hands are raised in joy, and a broad smile spreads across her face, the patch removed and her sight restored.
