Inspired by the scripture “But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint” (Isaiah 40:31), Erekson paints a portrait of her own strength in Jesus Christ. The giant bow across her back resembles a yoke, symbolic of the yoke of Christ. Her children are symbolized by the arrows in her quiver, and her hair is full of items that remind her of her children, her grandmothers, her mother, and herself.
“As we wait upon the Lord, our strength and capacity are not only replenished but amplified.”
