Not So Fallen

A grove of aspen trees reaches tall to the sky. On closer look, however, each aspen grows imperfectly, one tree leaning a little while each shows scars of life experience—from a passing elk, perhaps. Sjoblom sees inspiration in the aspen grove: “We are never as fallen as we perceive ourselves and, in fact, can benefit from those around us. All around us are people who are more scarred than we know. They have their own weaknesses but continue to grow where they are.”
