The Apostle John recounts a story of a woman who was found in a compromising position and physically brought to Jesus. Gonzales imagines the scene in a public location. The woman is on the ground, her face cast down with shame and humiliation. Gonzales also paints the Savior on the ground; He has crouched down to her level to convey grace and understanding. It is from this condescension that He can offer compassion and raise her up.
“There is always hope, and [He] will never leave us alone.”
