Composed of discarded stones and seaglass gathered by the artist for twenty years, figures join hands as they dance, lift, love, and serve. From that service rises a wave of color through which a bat, bird, and dragonfly soar; balloons rise up; and life joyfully tumbles. Bruggeman comments about giving kind assistance: “One gets back more than they give; a sweet, holy joy that gives value and meaning to life and leaves the soul feeling whole and satisfied.”
“Compassionate service isn’t always convenient or easy. Yet . . . giving of myself is always an antidote to my own suffering.”
