The artist created a portrait of her daughter, imagining her scaling the cliffs of mortality. Holding the rope are a multitude of hands, representing the many women who have guided, taught, and loved her daughter through her journey. “United in purpose to love and strengthen,” Jones comments, “those heavenly hands now extend the threads of experience, knowledge, and love upon which my daughter can hold fast.”
