A young woman rests in the center, her figure composed of deep rivers of color and darkness. Reaching toward her are hands—some formed and some formless—that seem to offer rest and consolation. Baker created this work in a time of personal anguish, in gratitude for those who reached out to help her. She notes that Christ’s grace often came to her through the hands of others.
