Holding an infant barely smaller than herself, a young girl holds a bottle to feed her small charge. She looks intently at the bottle, and she takes seriously the baby’s needs. Her task is important, although her size and inexperience are inadequate to fill the need. However, many hands support the girl, the baby, and the bottle so that she can accomplish this service. Witnessing this moment in real life, Johnston commented, “All involved experienced joy and love in this seemingly simple moment of service.”
