In this two-part scene, Isaac portrays the Apostles Peter and John meeting a disabled man asking for money. Peter tells the man, “Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee” (Acts 3:6). At Peter’s command, the man is able to walk. Isaac has imagined the aftermath of the scriptural story; with hands outstretched and head raised, the man, now standing straight and tall, offers thanks to God.
“I loved portraying the gratitude of the man who was healed, as well as the service shown as the apostles were healing him.”
