Four figures move, intertwined. Each figure is in some state of collapsing, but each lifts another as he or she falls. Succurri comes from the Latin verb meaning “to provide succor or help.” Erickson views the piece as an invitation to viewers to “gently lift those around them even when they feel they may be falling.” She notes, “More often than not, you will find gentle arms to hold you too.”
“They lift and hold where they can and trust in the support the others provide.”
