  • The first documentation to place him in Utah is a rebaptism, which took place in Salt Lake City on 9 June 1851. That record indicates he was born in Chesterfield, Detroit, South Carolina. Another baptism record, this one performed on 26 October 1851 indicates hew was born in Winchester, Wayne, Mississippi.  Further research is needed to determine the year of his arrival and the name of the pioneer company he traveled to Utah with.
