  • Alice Daniels crossed the Atlantic on the ship Hope in 1842. She married John Weinel at Quincy, Illinois and they crossed the plains to the Salt Lake Valley in 1848 bringing with them and orphan girl from Canada. Alice was re-baptized on 27 November 1848 and appears in the 1856 Utah Territorial Census at Salt Lake City with her husband and his second wife. Her death date is from cemetery records.  Additional research is needed to identify the year she crossed the plains and the pioneer company with which she traveled.
