Frederick Mills

Facebook Twitter Print Mail
  • Frederick was rebaptized in Salt Lake City on 21 April 1850, which was prior to the arrival of that season's emigration.  This proves that he arrived in Utah by 1849.  Further research is needed to determine the year of his arrival and the name of the pioneer company with which he traveled to Utah.

His rebaptism is recorded in the Salt Lake Stake Record of Members, and it confirms his birth date.   The Early Church Information File also confirms his birth date, and gives his place of birth as Merrimack, New Hampshire, USA.

According to the account in Journal History, in 1850 he went to California with a group of men heading to the gold mines, and "a number of missionaries called to the Society Islands."  William D. Huntington was the leader of that company, and Frederick Mills was the company clerk.
