  • Mary Lang and her husband, William, began their overland journey as part of the Outhouse company. William served as a Captain of Ten. However, the Outhouse Company experienced divisiveness and for much of the way, each ten in the company traveled independently. 
     
    Outhouse company records indicate Lang's traveling group consisted of four adults and two children. Lang Company records identify the additional individuals as the Henry Bawden family.
