Amy Amelia Jones

  • Amy lived in the Blockhouse Iowa branch of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from 1846-1849.  At age eighteen she crossed the plains with her parents and siblings.  They appear together in the 1850 federal census of Utah which was taken in early 1851 and  Amy was re-baptized and re-confirmed by her father James N. Jones on 24 September of this year.  She married Joseph Gaston Garlick at Salt Lake City on 31 October 1851.  At the time of her death her surname was Mower having married Henry Mower later in life.  In her obituary her name is Mrs. Amy Garlic Mower.  Find A Grave lists her as Amy Amelia Jones Mower.
