Benjamin Phillips

Facebook Twitter Print Mail
  • Benjamin does not appear on the 1850 Utah census.  The first documentation to place him in Utah is his sale of land in Salt Lake City 5 October 1852.  Further research is needed to determine the year he came to Utah and the name of the company he traveled with.

"This individual may be Benjamin Phillips, born 1 March 1814 and died 19 August 1898 in Salina, Sevier County, Utah, but further research is needed to confirm this.  The gravestone for his man can be seen on the Find a Grave website.  His obituary does not give any information concerning his arrival in Utah.  It can be found in the Deseret Evening News, 31 August 1895, under the heading of 'Deaths.'"
