  • She and her daughter, Henrietta, sailed to America in 1861 on the ship Monarch of the Sea.  Her name was listed as Hanne M. Hansen on the ship manifest, and her daughter's name was shown as Henriette Hoffman.  Hanna was married Jeppe Bendtsen in Salt Lake City 16 January 1862, which was prior to the arrival of that season's emigration.  Further research is needed to determine the name of the pioneer company they traveled to Utah with in 1861.

The inscription on Hanna's gravestone in Idaho shows her name as Hanna Hanson Benson.
