  • The Wall family (Frederick and Sarah and their daughters Emma and Sarah) arrived in New Orleans on 14 March 1851 via the ship Ellen. The Dunn journal indicates that daughter, Sarah, died on the ship and there is no record of Emma making the overland journey either. It is assumed she died prior to departure as well, but further research is needed to verify that.

The 1870 census and Martha's death certificate indicate that she was born on the trail along the Platte River in 1852. Further research is needed to identify the name of the company they traveled with.
