Jacob Pochin

  • Jacob and his wife Sarah appear together on the 1851 Ellen ship manifest.  His age is listed as 37, which would make his birth year about 1814.

The first documentation to place him in Utah is his purchase of property 11 February 1853, which proves that he arrived in Salt Lake City in 1851 or 1852.  Further research is needed to determine the year he came to Utah and the name of the pioneer company he traveled with.

Sarah is listed alone on the 1853 hand-written Moses Clawson Company roster.
