He came to America on the ship Berlin in 1849 With first wife, Priscilla (who died at sea) and two sons, and he married Anne Moore in Missouri.
John's wife (Anne Moore Walker) and children are documented in the 1852 Higbee/Bay company, but he is not seen in those company records. It is possible he traveled that same year, but with another company as a teamster to help pay his passage. Further research is needed.
The 1852 Bishops' Registry shows a John Walker living in the North Cottonwood (Farmington area) Ward in 1852. If this is him, it would document at least that he traveled the same year as his family.
