  • In some sources his name is spelled Guiscord, Ginscard or Guidscord.  The spelling of his name and his birth and death dates are confirmed by High Priests of Nauvoo and Early Salt Lake City.  Land records also confirm the spelling of his surname.

    He sailed to America in 1854 on the ship Germanicus, and his occupation was listed as watch maker. The ship manifest index lists his name as Jeremiah Ginscard.   No other family members accompanied him to America.
