  • Hannah Howell emigrated to the United States from Australia in 1866. While her name is not yet listed on the Mormon Migration website, a letter by David Milne and Joseph D. Spencer to Brigham Young dated 26 January 1866 confirms her identity and shows that she traveled with them. These letters also confirm the Hannah sailed with this group on the Albert, although her name has yet to be listed on the Mormon Migration website. 

    She arrived in Utah by August 1866. She traveled with David Milne and his family. David Milne hired Orrin Smith to take them from San Francisco to Salt Lake City. 

    She is the mother of Sarah McKnight.
