Abraham Owen Smoot
Abraham O. Smoot was Captain of a large pioneer company made up of two "Fifties." George B. Wallace was Captain of the First Fifty; Samuel Russell was Captain of the Second Fifty. The two Fifties traveled in tandem. In the years following, he captained several emigrant companies assisting hundreds across the plains to the Salt Lake Valley.
