  • The first documentation to place Almerin in Utah is his divorce from Louiza Williams in Salt Lake City on 8 September 1855.  We do not know the date of their marriage.  His name does appear on the 1850 Illinois census.  He married Ophelia Ricardo in Louisiana, USA on 9 February 1852, so we know that he arrived in Utah between 1852 and 1855.  Further research is needed to determine the year of his travel to Utah and the name of the pioneer company with which he traveled.
