Daniel Toner

  • Daniel was from Ireland but he was re-baptized at Salt Lake City on 3 June 1852 and received a Patriarchal Blessing from John Smith on 6 June.  At a special conference held in Salt Lake City on 28-29 August 1852 he received a mission call to his homeland and, according to the British Mission Record, he sailed from New York on the ship "Roscius" on 3 March 1853 arriving at Liverpool on 1 April.  On 5 March 1854 he began his return journey to the United States on the ship "Old England"  arriving at the mouth of the Mississippi river on 24 April.   In some source his surname is spelled "Tener."
