  • Harriet immigrated to the United States in March 1860.  She traveled on the ship Underwriter and sailed from Liverpool on 20 March 1860 and arrived in New York on 1 May.  Her mother, Margaret Maria Weight and two of her siblings Charles and William, with his family, also traveled on the Underwriter.  She traveled to the Salt Lake Valley with the James D. Ross Company in 1860.  There is a "Susan Husbands" found in the James D. Ross company records with her, and it is possible that Susan is her mother, Margaret.  However, further research is need to confirm that they are the same person.
