  • Company and emigration records erroneously show a surname of "Kok." This is the Danish word for chef or cook. Jorgen was a baker. There was likely some confusion with the clerks when transcribing foreign language data. 

    She came on the ship, Monarch of the Sea in 1861 with her father, Jorgen, mother, Ane Mette and siblings, Niels, and Michael.
