Emma Adams White
Her history, written at the age of 88 years old, indicates that she and her father traveled in 1852 on the ship International. However, the International only sailed in 1853 and neither her, nor her father's name is on that passenger list. Their names appear on the passenger lists for the Carmillis, arriving in New Orleans on 7 June 1853. The history indicates that they made the overland journey only weeks after arriving in America. For this reason we have placed her in the unknown 1853 company. Further research is needed to identify the name of the company they traveled with.
First documentation to place them in the valley is Emma's rebaptism in the Slatersville Ward on 14 October 1860.
Most of the death records (obituary and death certificate) indicate her death year was 1841. But her own record, as well as census records taken while she was living all indicate the birth year was 1842.
