  • Lois arrived in New York on 13 June 1862 via the ship Manchester, traveling with her parents, John and Jane Thomson, and her brother James. She is listed on the roster of the James Brown company as part of "and family" with her father. She died en route. The Deseret News article states "There was but one death by the way--a Mrs. Thompson, from England." It is likely that this refers to Lois Thomson, who was unmarried.

The family sailed to America in 1862 on the ship Manchester.
