  • Mary began her journey with her family in the 1864 Chase company, but after an agreement between her father and some teamsters, they pulled out and returned to St. Louis. The family completed the trip three years later in a small company captained by her father, George Dunford. Her name is listed as "Margaret" on the roster.

    Her given name is "Marna" on the 1870 Utah census and her surname is "Richards" on the death certificate and Find A Grave website.
