  • He traveled with his sister Karen Marie Sorensen and her child Hansine to America. Hansine died aboard the ship Monarch of the Sea  on 25 May 1864.

    More research is needed to confirm his date of birth as secondary sources conflict. At this time, birth date listed reflects data from his death certificate and family tradition from Family Tree at FamilySearch.org. It appears that he went by "Solen," later in life.
