Daughter of John and Ann. She emigrated from Scotland with her family. They traveled from Liverpool to New York City by way of the ship General McClellan. The Carlin family is listed on two separate company rosters for the 1864 Warren Company and the 1864 Rawlins Company. This is likely due to some sort of recording error. The Warren company roster includes the names of each individual family member, while the Rawlins Company list of passengers is written as "John Carlin and family."
Her surname is "Wagstaff" on the 1870 Utah census with her mother and her married name is "Barnes" on Find A Grave website.
