  • William initially traveled to the Valley with his mother, Dorothy Wilson, and three brothers, Richard, Robert Crosby, and George Edward. In the roster, the boys are referred to as "and family", traveling with mother Dorothy Wilson.

    A few years later, William again crossed the plains, this time working as a teamster for John Gillespie's out-and-back company in 1868.
