  • The Taylor family arrived in New York on 6 July 1866 via the ship Arkwright. Although the overland company records list only the head of household, the notation showing that William purchased 4 adult food rations indicates that some of his family was with him for this part of the trip as well. His three oldest children had traveled to the Valley previously so that left the four youngest and his wife who would have traveled with him.
