  • The family sailed to America in 1867 on the ship Manhattan.

It is possible the Cooper family traveled with the William S. Seely Company, who left two weeks before the Daniel D. McArthur Company. They are listed among people who left the outfitting place with that company. They traveled from England via the Manhattan and arrived in New York on 30 July 1867, a year prior to either company departure.
