William Stennett Poppleton
Son of William Bannister Poppleton and Sarah Stennett. At the time of the 1860 federal census young William was living in Omaha, Nebraska; in a brief autobiographical sketch he wrote: "In the spring of 1860 immigration to Utah was the word. Judson S. Stoddard came to Omaho [sic] and hired me to drive a 4 mule team across the plains. I arrived in Bountiful late in the fall, later I moved to Cache Valley where I have lived ever since." William appears in the Utah Territorial Militia records at Cache Valley in 1861.
