  • Ellen crossed the plains with her parents and siblings. In 1870, she is found on the Utah census in the household of her father, George Hayball. Her married name was Ellen J. England. Her birth date and death date come from her Utah death certificate.

    The Sampson family sailed to America in 1868 on the ship Emerald Isle.
