  • William and his family traveled with the Willie Company as far as Florence, Nebraska, where they dropped out. Three daughters joined the Edward Martin Company (1856), but he remained in the area with the rest of his family for a few years. They continued on in the Joseph W. Young Freight Train in 1860.

    The family sailed to America in 1856 on the ship Thornton.
