  • He traveled with his father from Michigan en route to California, but arrived in Salt Lake City on 22 July and stayed in Utah where he joined the Church after a few months. A non-contemporary typescript list (Journal History, Supp. after 31 Dec. 1848, 5) places him coming to Utah in 1848 with Brigham Young by mistake.
