  • Fanny, her husband Richard and their daughter Fanny sailed on the ship Berlin in 1849.  Richard died at sea and little Fanny died soon after arriving in New Orleans.  A son, William Ward Lister was born on the Atlantic.  A secondary source says that Fanny also had a son named John Henry and that she married Samuel Gould at Council Bluffs, Iowa (this marriage place needs to be confirmed with primary source documentation.)  Although Samuel also crossed the plains in 1850 he was in the Amassa M. Lyman Company.    In the 1850 Utah census Fanny and her sons John (age 11) and William (age 2) were in the household of Samuel Gould.  In the 1860 Utah census the family is misnamed "Joel."
