  • Robert sailed to America in 1841 on the ship Echo.

    He traveled across the country as a member of the Mormon Battalion. He returned to Utah from California in 1847 and continued east to meet his family. He returned with them in 1850.

    His birth date is confirmed by Leigh and Deerhurst, Gloucester, England parish records. England Births and Christenings lists a christening date of 21 February 1808, which supports a birth year of 1807.
