  • The Crowthers reached Utah in 1857. This is confirmed by the rebaptism date for both George and Janet. They were both rebaptized on 4 October 1857 in the Millcreek Ward. It is likely that they traveled with the Israel Evans Company. However, it is just as likely that they traveled with the Jesse B. Martin Company. The book, The Crowthers of Fountain Green, Utah, suggests that they were members of the Israel Evans Company. However, the book also indicates that the family left for Utah in June 1857. The departure date matches that of the Jesse B. Martin Company. The Israel Evans Company departed for Utah in May. More research is needed to determine their assigned company.
